We created a list of Our Favorite San Diego Restaurants that you should try! If you’re here visiting San Diego, chances are the foodie in you is coming out to play!
The list is organized by food genre, so once you figure out what kind of cuisine you’re craving you can easily find something you’d like!
My hope is to continually update this list as we try more places to eat around San Diego. If you have any great spots, feel free to comment them too!
Mexican Restaurants
- Miguel’s Cocina at Portside Pier (One of our favorites because of the ambience and the view. Our favorites there are their fajitas, their 1lb burrito, carne asada, nachos, and the mud pie!)
- Tacos El Gordo (Yummy street tacos, but they get pretty busy so check their status on Google before going!)
- Taco Stand in La Jolla (Some people say it’s overrated, but we really like their burritos and churros. We usually take our food to go and sit at Cuvier Park to picnic).
- La Puerta in Gaslamp (The Carne Asada Fries and Margaritas were great. We went with friends after we had already had a big lunch, so we shared the fries, but we want to go back and try more!)
Italian Restaurants
- Pizzo’s Pizzeria (A little ways away from Downtown, but it’s one of our absolute favorites. We go about once a week to once every other week. The staff is so friendly, and the food is amazing!)
- Mimmo’s in Little Italy
- Pizza Nova in Point Loma (Great view of the harbor and great food!)
- Pizza Port (Casual Pizza and Beer spot, really yummy!)
Steak & Seafood
- Brigantine at Portside Pier (If you’re looking for a nice, classy restaurant to go to, we highly recommend Brigantine. We’ve had nothing but great experiences there. Staff is very knowledgable and friendly! We always start off with the crab & shrimp fondue! It also has a great view of the bay!)
- Eddie V’s
- Duke’s La Jolla
- Lobster West (a little sandwich and soup shop in La Jolla with fantastic lobster rolls!)
American Restaurants
- OB Brewery
- PB Ale House
- Ketch
- The Friendly (Hole in the wall spot for burgers. One of the best burgers I’ve had, but you can’t make any modifications!!)
- The Henry on Coronado (We really love their spicy tuna & crispy rice and the pretzel fondue appetizers!)
Asian Food
- Tajima’s for Ramen
Peruvian Food
- Q’ero in Encinitas (We really really enjoyed this restaurant! We stopped here randomly while walking around downtown Encinitas and definitely want to go back!)
Breakfast Spots
- Breakfast Republic
- Fig Tree Cafe in Downtown of Liberty Station
- Richard Walkers Pancake House
- Miguel’s Cocina Brunch (We still haven’t actually gotten to try their brunch, but we’ve heard amazing things and really want to go!)
- Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe in Poway (Superrrr cute breakfast spot up I-15. Loved the Carnitas breakfast panini w/ their salsa and their lavender mocha!)
Acai Bowls
- Acai Carioca (our absolute favorite!!!! We like to take them to-go to Sunset Cliffs to eat it!)
- Parakeet Juicery on Coronado Island
Ice Cream
- Cali Cream (I discovered this place at an event hosted by Your Day With Dre Events for her new Mobile Bar, Wandering Wagon! Juliana and Ken are some of the kindest people, and their ice cream is sooooo delicious!)
Hopefully we can continue to add to this list and try even more restaurants around us! If you try any of these, I would love to know your thoughts. And if you have any recommendations you wanna add to our favorite San Diego Restaurants, drop them in the comments below!
